The NRW police force offers career opportunities in many professional fields, a secure job and varied tasks.

On our careers portal, you can find comprehensive information on the steps you need to take and the requirements you need to meet to join us.

Our colleagues provide an insight into their respective professional fields in videos. From the police professions such as the patrol service, the criminal investigation department or the state equestrian squadron and water protection, but also from the equally important civilian professions, such as information technology (IT), the laboratory or human resources. Everyone is important here and makes a contribution to security in NRW with their commitment.

In addition to the comprehensive opportunities to get a realistic picture of our exciting jobs, interested parties will also find a wealth of information on how to join us and/or apply for a job:

  • Pupils have the opportunity to find out how an internship with the police works and what requirements they need to meet. If they have any further questions, they can also find contact persons here who they can turn to.
  • The police vocational baccalaureate enables pupils to enter a dual course of study in the police force more quickly - without having to go through another selection process. You can find lots of information and further links here.
  • We train! In the area of training, computer and/or IT enthusiasts as well as those interested in manual trades will find training opportunities in a secure training company with a high takeover rate.
  • The dual study courses offered by the police are characterized by a high practical component. With a bachelor's degree, graduates are ideally equipped for their work in the police force. Continuous further training and development is not only expressly desired, but also encouraged.
  • People who have completed civilian vocational training, have several years of experience or are at the beginning of their career will find a wide range of fields of activity in our civilian professions, as well as contact persons who they can get in touch with if they have any questions.
  • In the police professions, our colleagues in uniform have the floor. If you would like to know what is required and what happens in patrol duty, in water protection or in the air squadron, this is the right place for you.
  • Higher service: Lawyers who have completed their second state examination in law will find everything they need to know here to enter the higher police service as a police councillor.
  • At the bottom of the home page, we regularly present new campaigns on a wide range of professional areas. So it's always worth taking a look at our website.

This is important to us: Applications from people with disabilities are expressly encouraged and welcomed!
