"Specialists to police officers" - this year, particularly pre-qualified police officers will once again have the opportunity to be deployed more quickly than before in the area of crime and traffic accident prevention.
As of 1 September 2022, the Ministry of the Interior of North Rhine-Westphalia (IM) is offering a total of 100 police officers who have already acquired a professional qualification in the form of completed vocational training or a degree that is conducive to the specialized performance of police duties the opportunity to be voluntarily deployed in specialized areas of activity in the fight against crime or traffic accidents. The intention is to deploy 70 of the total of 100 police officers in the Crime Directorate and the NRW State Criminal Police Office and 30 in the Traffic Directorate and the NRW State Office for Central Police Services.
Thanks to the preliminary training acquired, the police authorities should be able to deploy professionally qualified police officers in the areas of traffic accident and crime prevention more quickly than before.
