What you can expect with us

As an accountant at NRW Police, you will work on the monthly and annual financial statements. In doing so, you will make periodic accruals and deferrals and prepare the statement of changes in fixed assets. You will also prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements and comparisons of operating assets. You will also be responsible for checking accounting entries and making any necessary corrections. Furthermore, you will be responsible for the support and processing of tax audits and for the preparation of statistics and evaluations.

What makes you stand out

• You have successfully completed a degree in business administration or a comparable course of study with a focus on banking, finance, accounting or taxation.
• Alternatively, you have completed a commercial apprenticeship plus further training as a tax specialist or business specialist or administrative specialist and have at least 3 years of professional experience in the field of tax consulting or auditing.
• You also have good entry opportunities if you have completed commercial training plus state-recognized further training to become a certified accountant (IHK) or Bachelor Professional in Accounting or have completed further training to become a state-certified business economist and have at least 3 years of professional experience in the field of tax consulting or auditing.

What you can expect with us

As a financial accountant at the NRW Police, you will be responsible for bookkeeping and accounting tasks. The tasks range from accounts payable and accounts receivable to preparatory financial statement work and the preparation of strategic financial management issues. You will record business transactions in accordance with national commercial and tax accounting regulations and derive corresponding postings. You will evaluate operational issues from a tax perspective. You will also be responsible for making complex postings (VAT, corporation tax, accruals and deferrals, final payments).

What makes you stand out

Business economists are employed by the NRW police as financial investigators or financial analysts.
Financial analysts combat the financing of terrorism. They evaluate incoming reports of suspected money laundering in the area of Islamist terrorism and analyze financial flows in the context of terrorist financing with the aim of initiating criminal investigations. Your task will be to initiate and carry out evaluations/evaluation projects and to prepare expert reports on specific cases. They prepare digital payment flows and then analyze and evaluate them. The financial analysts identify, analyze and evaluate existing and new structures/ phenomena by researching data networks (darknet and deep web), social media channels and using IT software tools. Cooperation takes place with other security authorities and intelligence services at state and federal level.

Financial investigators are deployed in the area of organized crime. They assess (international) company structures and evaluate (international) company information from commercial registers and other sources (e.g. company databases, trade registration offices, electronic Federal Gazette). They also evaluate and assess balance sheet and accounting documents. Financial investigators investigate the accounts of private individuals and companies at banks and other financial service providers. They record account turnover data, evaluate and assess it and analyze various bank documents. Another task is to draw up a statement of assets and liabilities for individuals and legal entities.

The financial investigators also take part in searches and hearings of witnesses and defendants. They evaluate evidence with regard to property law, tax and business management aspects and present their findings in reports for court files. In addition, they provide continuous advice to internal and external police departments throughout their work.

As an administrative officer, you will work for us in management positions or departmental offices, for example. As an office communication clerk, you will work as an office manager or receptionist, for example. Real estate agents are employed in property management. They are involved in all matters relating to tenancy agreements for the respective properties. The condition analysis and assessment of properties and the profitability calculation for ancillary rental costs and cost monitoring are also part of the activities of real estate agents. They also draw up technical plans, user requirements and operating concepts and service specifications for tenders and plan and manage the premises. They support various government projects and coordinate construction measures and advise project managers.

What you can expect with us

As an insurance and finance clerk, you can work for us in central claims management. This is where all motor vehicle claims are processed centrally for the 50 police authorities in the state of NRW. You will be responsible for the legal assessment of motor vehicle damage claims and assert claims of the state of NRW, settle claims made to the state of NRW or, if necessary, defend against them. You will be responsible for correspondence with parties involved in accidents, insurance companies, doctors, experts, lawyers and courts.

What makes you stand out

• You have successfully completed vocational training as an insurance and finance clerk specializing in insurance and have at least three years of practical experience in the assertion and/or settlement of claims for damages.
• Alternatively, you are a certified legal specialist or insurance specialist.
• Ideally, you already have several years of experience in claims processing, particularly in the processing of traffic accidents.
