Dual study program in administrative informatics (VIT)

In the first semesters, the focus is on tasks and requirements relating to e-government. The basics of programming, technical computer science as well as business administration and the fundamentals of law are taught.

In the 3rd and 4th semesters, you will go into practice. In your training authority - the LZPD NRW - the theory of the first year is deepened in practice and the first projects are accompanied at first hand. In the 5th to 7th semester, the focus is on analyzing and solving administrative problems, accompanied by the basics of scientific work, which prepares you for the challenges of the Bachelor's thesis in the 8th semester.

The theoretical part of the dual study program takes place at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences. The dual study program Administrative Informatics - E-Government, B.Sc. (block model) is assigned to the Faculty of Communication and Environment and takes place at the Kamp-Lintfort campus.

The course comprises 8 semesters, i.e. 4 years, including the practical sections.

The basic amount for candidates according to salary group A 10 Landesbesoldungsordnung (LBesO) NRW is 1,355.68 euros (for 2020) and, if applicable, a family allowance. (The amount stated is for guidance only).

Upon successful completion of the dual study program, you will be awarded the academic degree "Bachelor of Science". At the same time, you will acquire the career qualification for career group 2 of the technical administrative IT service in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia.

You will help shape the digital future of the state and drive the future of information technology in the state. As an IT specialist, you will support the development and operation of the IT infrastructure of the NRW police in the Windows and Unix / Linux systems environment, as well as the implementation of software-based problem solutions within police IT applications. In this way, you will help to ensure the state's ability to act at the interface between IT and administration. After successfully completing your studies, further tasks await you on the path to digitizing public administration. Help to plan and implement a future-oriented IT strategy.

The salary after graduation is in accordance with A 10 LBEsO NRW and currently amounts to 2,962.09 euros basic salary, plus family allowances if applicable. (The amount stated is for guidance only).
