Fighting Cybercrime next level
The police in North Rhine-Westphalia fight cybercrime professionally and with great effort. However, the race continues and constantly requires new concepts, the most advanced technology and - most importantly - the best minds. The new Digital Crime Scene Intervention Teams will further professionalize crime scene work and investigations into attacks against hospitals, public authorities and commercial enterprises. Because the first hours and days are crucial!
Digital crime scenes intervention teams
We are setting up the Digital Crime Scene Intervention Teams in Bielefeld, Dortmund, Düsseldorf, Essen, Münster, Cologne and at the State Criminal Police Office of North Rhine-Westphalia in Düsseldorf. The teams investigate serious attacks on IT systems and digital traces in all areas of crime, including white-collar crime, state security offenses and other crimes. Whenever the special equipment and expertise of the teams are required.
Development of artificial intelligence
With a new team of AI experts, we are strengthening our expertise in the analysis of mass data (big data) and the use of artificial intelligence. The team will be part of the Cybercrime Competence Center of the LKA NRW and will develop, implement and support innovative software solutions for the police. We work with agile methods that are based on Scrum, for example. Our requirements for the AI team are correspondingly agile.
We have the opportunity here to work with state-of-the-art technology and develop innovative new things.
